Echelon Station

The echelon position is achieved by flying slightly below the Lead, stepped back, at a distance between fuselages of approximately 1½ wingspans (Echelon Right Position).

The correct position is achieved by aligning the following points:

Vertically
Vertically - The rear engine cowl clamp should be positioned just above the CT-4 wing fence (Vertical and Longtitudinal Reference Line), or with the nose wheel and main wheel kissing.
Longtitudinally
The point at the trailing edge where the Lead's flap and aileron meet is vertically aligned with the rear engine cowl clamp (Vertical and Longtitudinal Reference Line).

Laterally
Laterally - The rear tip of the elevator in line with the rudder hinge line (Lateral Reference Line).
